AI meeting assistant for founders

Founders use an AI meeting assistant to keep an accurate record of investor pitches, customer discovery, hiring calls and board meetings, which often all happen in the same week. Look for notes shaped to each kind of meeting, logging into the CRM where you track investors, and the ability to ask what was said months ago. Natively does this on your own Mac or Windows PC, with no bot in the call.

One founder, too many kinds of meetings

An early-stage founder is fundraiser, head of sales, head of product and recruiter at once. Each role comes with its own meetings and its own way of forgetting things.

  • Promises made on pitch calls. "I'll send you the cohort data by Friday" is said in passing and lost by Thursday. Investors notice.
  • The same question, answered differently. By the twelfth pitch your answer on market size has changed three times, and you no longer know which version which partner heard.
  • Discovery you cannot delegate. Before there is a product team, the founder runs customer calls, and those insights need to survive the fundraising month.
  • Board meetings with real decisions. Option pool changes, budget approvals and hiring plans need a record better than your memory of the call.
  • Early hires. Someone among your first ten employees deserves the same careful screening a larger company would give.

A fundraising call, before, during and after

  1. BeforeWith your calendar connected, the meeting is named after the event and Natively knows who was invited; the Clearbit connector can look up the attendees. Choose the Investor: Prospective template for a first meeting.
  2. DuringKeep your eyes on the partner, not a document. Type a marker when they raise a concern. If they share a slide or a model on screen, take a screenshot and ask Natively what it shows. Before closing, ask "what did I say I would send them?"
  3. Right afterThe notes list their questions, your answers and the commitments you made. Natively drafts a follow-up email from them; with Gmail connected you send it from your own address after you check it.
  4. Log itSend the notes to the investor's contact in Attio, Affinity or HubSpot, so your fundraising pipeline holds the full conversation rather than a one-line comment.
  5. Across the roundOnce a week, ask across past meetings which objections came up and how you answered them, then fix the deck or the story before the next batch of pitches.

Fictional example

Finding the objection that keeps coming back
Situation
A founder of a fictional scheduling startup for veterinary clinics has had seven first pitches in two weeks and two quick passes.
Founder asks
"Across my investor meetings this month, what concerns came up about market size, and how did I respond?"
Natively
Four of seven meetings raise it. Two partners asked whether independent clinics are being bought up by chains; you answered once with chain growth figures and once by saying chains are a later segment. One asked about willingness to pay per clinic.
Founder checks
Reads both answers in the transcripts and sees that the second answer sounded like avoiding the question.
Outcome
The deck gets a slide on selling to chains as well as independents, and the founder answers the question the same way in every remaining pitch.

All templates are part of Pro, which the one-time 30-minute free trial lets you try; see pricing. Without Pro, every call still gets a transcript, General mode notes and a follow-up draft. If most of your calls are with customers, the sales call assistant page goes deeper on that side.

Keeping your investor pipeline current

The Attio, Affinity and HubSpot connectors log a meeting's notes on the matching contact. They do not map fields or move deals between stages, so after each call you still update the stage yourself. For anything else, such as a spreadsheet tracker, the Zapier and webhook connectors pass the notes on. A local, read-only MCP server and API also let tools like Claude Desktop or Cursor read your meetings, if you want to draft an investor update from a quarter's calls.

Getting set up in an afternoon

  1. InstallOn macOS 12 or later, or Windows 10 or 11 (x64). It works with Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Webex and calls you place through the computer, and with in-person coffee meetings through the microphone.
  2. Choose speech and AI providersBring your own keys (Deepgram or Soniox for speech; OpenAI, Claude or Gemini for notes), run local models, or use the Natively API.
  3. Connect calendar and GmailGoogle Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar on a Mac, or an ICS link. Calendar access is read-only.
  4. Connect your CRMAttio, Affinity or HubSpot, wherever you track investors and customers.
  5. Try one template on a real callUse the trial on an investor update or a discovery call and compare the notes with what you would have written.

What Natively does not do for founders

  • It does not update deal stages, fields or properties in your CRM; it logs notes on contacts.
  • It does not record video of the meeting, and there is no mobile app that records calls.
  • In a boardroom with one laptop, everyone in the room reaches it through one microphone, and telling the directors apart depends on the speech provider you chose. Type names next to decisions as they are made.
  • It is not a source of numbers. If an investor asks for metrics, the follow-up draft needs your real figures, checked.
  • It runs on macOS and Windows only; there is no Linux version.

Questions people ask

Can Natively log investor meetings in my CRM?

Yes. The Attio, Affinity and HubSpot connectors log a meeting's notes on the matching contact. They do not update fields or move deals between stages, so you still change the stage yourself.

Which templates are there for fundraising and board meetings?

Investor: Prospective, Investor: Current, VC: Pitch, Board Meeting and Customer: Discovery, among others. Templates are part of Pro; General mode notes and follow-up drafts are free.

Can it send follow-up emails after a pitch?

Natively drafts a follow-up email from the meeting notes. With Gmail connected, you can send it from your own account after you review and confirm it.

Where to go next

Natively captures the call audio on your own computer, so no bot joins the meeting. Notes, recaps and answers come from the transcript.
