Getting started

Keyboard shortcuts

Four keys carry the whole product. Everything else is optional.

Natively is designed to be operated without ever bringing a window to the front, because bringing a window to the front is the visible part. The shortcuts below are global: they work while your focus is in Zoom, in a browser, or in an editor.

⌘ K / Ctrl KSummon or dismiss the overlay. This is the activation key, and it is rebindable.
⌘ ↵ / Ctrl ↵Ask. Sends everything heard so far, plus any captured screen, and streams the answer.
⌘ ⇧ ↵ / Ctrl ⇧ ↵Capture the active coding problem, OCR it, and fold the text into context.
EscHide the overlay immediately without clearing the session.

Chaining captures

Press the capture shortcut more than once before you ask, and each screenshot is appended rather than replacing the last. That is how a multi-part system design question or a problem split across two tabs gets answered as one thing instead of three.

Rebinding

The activation key is configurable in settings. Two things are worth knowing before you change it. First, pick a combination your other applications do not already own — a shortcut that is captured by the foreground app never reaches Natively. Second, avoid anything that is a plausible accident during typing; the overlay appearing mid-sentence is the one failure mode worth engineering against.
