Natively requires macOS 12 Monterey or later. There are separate builds for Apple Silicon (M1 and newer) and Intel — the download page picks for you, but if you are moving the file between machines, take the one that matches the target.
Install
- Download the
.dmgfrom the releases page and open it. - Drag Natively into your Applications folder. Do not run it from the mounted disk image — permissions granted there do not persist.
- Eject the disk image, then open Natively from Applications.
Permissions
macOS will ask for two permissions on first launch. Both are in System Settings → Privacy & Security, and both require you to quit and reopen Natively after granting them — macOS does not apply them to a running process.
- Screen Recording — required for system audio capture and for the screenshot OCR. Without it the app runs but hears only your microphone.
- Microphone — required for your own voice channel, the one you use to dictate a question without unmuting yourself in the call.
First run
- Open settings and add a model provider key, or point the app at a local Ollama endpoint if you want to stay entirely offline.
- Pick a mode. General / Co-pilot is the right default; switch to Technical Interview or Sales when the room calls for it.
- Press the activation shortcut to summon the overlay. Nothing is visible until you do.
Updating
Download the new .dmg and replace the app in Applications. Your settings, keys and transcript database live in your user library, not inside the bundle, so they survive the replacement. If macOS re-asks for Screen Recording after an update, that is expected — the permission is tied to the binary signature.
